Bag&Baggage Productions will be hosting MediaRites’ Theatre Diaspora at The Vault Theatre as we continue exploring the intersections of race, gender, orientation and nationality, including stories with specifically Pacific Northwest perspectives. We will be performing three monologues (one is a debut!) focusing on Exclusion and Inclusion. Then we will have a having a post-show dialogue to embrace empathy and learn from each other.
MediaRites’ Theatre Diaspora presents…a collection of monologues by Yasmin Ruvalcaba Saludado, Bonnie Ratner, Roberta Hunte, and Dmae Roberts.
This short version of Here On This Bridge: The –Ism Project is an adaptation that focuses on exclusion and inclusion and debuts an original premiere monologue “Ruega Por Mi” by Yasmin Ruvalcaba (performed by Yolanda Porter) and two more. The returning monologues are “That Diversity Thing” by Bonnie Ratner & Roberta Hunte (performed by Shelley B. Shelley) and “Harvest” by Dmae Roberts (performed by Larry Toda).
“Here On This Bridge: The Ism Project” in Hillsboro is comprised of three short monologues exploring the intersections of race, gender, orientation and nationality, with stories specifically from Pacific Northwest perspectives. The monologues will conclude with a post-show discussion with audience members to bridge divides and create much-needed empathy, understanding and compassion.

Admittance is suggested donation and geared to find common ground and community discussions with ages 14 and up.
Performance: Thursday September 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Vault Theatre. The performance is free, seating is limited and is first-come, first-served. Doors will open at 7:15p.m.
