![]() The Breast Cancer Project is a year-long project devoted to the topic of breast cancer at KBOO-FM under the direction of award-winning producers Dmae Roberts of MediaRites and Barbara Bernstein of the Media Project. The aim of this unique project is to create a new model for community partners to work together to create awareness on one health topic.

OUTREACH
The Breast Cancer Project begins with outreach to the general community. The main focus is to provide arts healing work and training through the talents of experienced artists to women, children, and families, as well as informing the general public about the benefits of creative writing, visual art, and media arts in the healing of the individual Workshops: all 10am - 1pm on Saturdays - Free to first 10 who register

Beginning in May we will have another series of workshops in a variety of arts. Please contact us to register. Artwork will be presented at a town hall event broadcast live on KBOO-FM radio October 23, 2003 and at an intimate performance at the Hollywood Theatre October 3rd and 4th. Workshop participants are encouraged to attend and take part if they choose.

This two-hour radio documentary special will be distributed to 200 public stations around the country hosted by Barbara Bernstein and Dmae Roberts. A complimentary web site BreastCancerProject.org is in development as part of the project to field questions, refer resources and links of research material and offer a discussion section for listeners. CDs will also be made available to the public at a reasonable cost.
